A Thermal Image is Worth a Thousand
Words - Mold Detection Services Does it Again
by Todd McFliker
For four years, Mold Detection Services, Inc. has been using certified
mold dogs to detect unwanted substances inside South Floridian’s homes,
workplaces, boats, and anywhere else mold grows. This dynamic company
will inspect mold in properties located anywhere between Palm Beach and
Key West. Utilizing certified Mold-Dogs as well as other high-tech
equipment, Mold Detection Services gives a thorough inspection,
accompanied by a report and a follow-up test. But now, even these dog
lovers are adding Thermal Imaging to their arsenal.
New Infrared cameras are
wondrous as they detect the slightest amounts of moisture. Utilizing the
latest technology will be quite exciting for both the customers and the
certified technician. As owner David Leshner, pointed out, a picture is
worth a thousand words when showing a photograph of potentially-hazardous
moisture in someone’s property.
Certified mold dogs have been used to detect hidden mold behind walls
for decades. As always, Mold Detection Services is in the forefront when
it comes to the latest technology in the industry. By combining man’s
best friend with the latest infrared technology, this company will take
mold and moisture inspections to another level! Now, more than ever,
Mold Detections Services, Inc. is one of the elite premiere detection
services in the country.

TM: How many mold dog businesses are there in the U.S.?
David: For mold inspection, there are thirty or forty canine businesses,
including Hawaii and Alaska. In South Florida, Mold Detection Services,
Inc. is the only company that provides K9 mold inspections along with
laser particle counters and infrared cameras. It’s satisfying to know we
are one-of-a-kind.
TM: Are you planning to expand your service area?
David: We are in the process adding locations for our service throughout
Florida.
TM: Once the mold problems are identified, is it your company that fixes
them?
David: No! We offer inspection, detection and laboratory services, as
well as post-clearance testing. After we are hired, we find the problem
and report what exactly needs to be fixed. Once a customer hires a
company that fixes the problem, we do a post test and we clear the work.
If the company passes the test, the customer pays them. But if they
don’t pass, they have to come back until they fix it properly. It is a
conflict of interest to have the inspection company also do the removal
of mold. The State of Florida hopefully will make such practices
illegal.
Every Floridian should have a mold inspection, especially when buying a
new property, after all of the storm damage that we recently
experienced.
